J. M. College is a symbol of the painstaking efforts of Late. Fateh Bahadur Singh.
The College was Born out of the visions of a great social worker dedicated to education, J.M. College is a symbol of the painstaking efforts of Late. Fateh Bahadur Singh during 1979. The college was founded at a time when Bhurkunda had already become a hub of Coal Mining network with a large population of workers. But with no college where the children of the society could get the benefit of higher education, especially the children of deprived society.

It is affiliated to Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag and Regd. Under Society Act, University Grants Commission 2F & 12(B) Act 1956.The college has been also selected under RUSA(RashtriyaUchchatarShikshaAbhiyan) Jharkhand.

The college was run in some small room of Asbestos Late. Fateh Bahadur Singh,and his supportive educationist team, under the auspices of the “J M Saikchanik & Samajik Snasthan”, It has raised fund for the building & Other development of the college from different societies and industries of surrounding area..

Since the college become a permanent affiliated unit of Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag. At present we have 17 faculties and more than 10000 students. We are imparting education upto Graduate level in different subjects of traditional courses(B.A/ B.Com / B.Sc ) with Core & General.
